RESERVES
Reserves to Cosmographia are not hard set, meaning that a reserve can be challenged by either another reserve or an application. Instead, reserves are more place markers for those who are interested in a character to let others know their intentions. More than one player may reserve a character.
What this means is that when a character is reserved, the mod team will wait until their application is submitted. If any other apps are received in the meantime, they will not be looked at until the reserve's app is judged. If it is accepted, the non-reserved apps will not be looked at. If it is rejected, the apps will then be judged. If two people should reserve and both apply by the end of the reservation period, they will be judged in comparison to the other.
This system is to encourage everyone to do their best in their application. Please don't be afraid to challenge a reserve or application!
Each reserve lasts one week from the day it is submitted before it expires, and there are no extensions. Once your reserve expires, you must wait one more week until you can reserve the character again.

Example Reservation Rounds:
Alice reserves Amethyst on Thursday. No one else reserves or submits an application. Alice's app is judged.
Alice reserves Amethyst on Thursday. Bryan puts in an app on Monday. Alice submits her app on Tuesday. Alice's app is accepted, Bryan's app is not judged.
Alice reserves Amethyst on Thursday. Bryan puts in an app on Monday. Alice submits her app on Tuesday. Alice's app is rejected, Bryan's app is judged.
Alice reserves Amethyst on Thursday. Cindy challenges her reserve on Friday. Alice never submits her application, and Cindy's app is judged the day Alice's reserve expires, Friday.
Alice reserves Amethyst on Thursday. Cindy Challenges her reserve on Friday. Alice and Cindy both submit applications. Their applications are thus treated as challenge applications, and both are judged.

Please note, the following characters currently cannot be reserved or applied for due to temporary drop from their players:
Lapis Lazuli - Steven Universe
Chiaki Nanami - (Super) Dangan Ronpa 2
Stan(ley) Pines - Gravity Falls
Players who have been in the game 3 months or more may request a hold on a character they have dropped temporarily and plan to re-app in the future. See the Temporary Drop Holds section of the FAQ for more details.
