RULES & CONSIDERATIONS
☆ RESPECT AND CONSIDERATION
This is the most important rule of the game. Roleplaying is a collaborative hobby, and in order everyone to have fun you need to have some healthy respect your fellow players and mods! This means playing according to the general etiquette of RP:
- No godmoding
- No infomoding
- Try to avoid springing things on people.
- Communication is key!
If you have any issues or player disagreements, please either settle it with each other like adults or bring it to a mod. Don't be a jerk. Taking the issues outside of the game will not resolve any problems you may have.
Keep in mind that this RP is intended to be light-hearted and fairly safe. So while sexual and violent suggestiveness is acceptable, anything graphic (rated as R to NC-17) is not allowed within the
cosmographia community. However, you may link such scenes back to your journal or fade to black. Use your discretion.
That said, from time to time there may be disturbing material, especially when it comes to body or identity horror. So as you RP, understand that you may come across something Bad.
If you have any gameplay or game mechanic issues, please let the mods know so we can try to improve!
☆ IN CHARACTER VS. OUT OF CHARACTER
While the focus of
cosmographia is primarily on fun, and pushing the boundaries of some characterization is considered acceptable to make things work for you, the player base, please respect the IC/OOC division. Just because this game allows for character behavior to be modified by gems, does not mean that you can ignore characterization! Keep in mind who you're playing and why you chose to play them the way you did, and remember that you are also not your character, and that any behavior towards your character or opinions held do not reflect on you OOCly.
If you have a serious issue with another player's characterization, or other 'in play' issues that have not been resolved through discussion with that player, please notify a mod. There will be dialog and possibly a strike issued if the characterization is truly grossly out of character.
☆ MAKE ACTIVITY
This should come as no surprise. Regularly playing will make the game much more fun for everyone! You can find our activity policy here.
☆ REMEMBER SETTING CONSTRAINTS
There is a powercap in the world of Cosmographia, which causes characters not to start with the skills they had in canon. This may make it more difficult for some characters, please consider this when you think about who to app.
Additionally, remember that your character does feel compelled to be here. Try not to have them be too angsty about finding a way home immediately.
☆ ECONOMICS POLICY
Considering the nature of the town, and the likely desire that characters may wish to purchase material goods, here's the deal:
1) Odd jobs can be picked up by characters on behalf of the town's NPCs, providing a small source of income. There is a goods catalog available in the post office and, if they can later on afford it, the internet. Odd jobs can include running deliveries, fixing things, doing temporary shift work for when an NPC is sick, or even setting up their own business. The last would need to be cleared with mods.
2) You, the player, decides how much money your character has at one time and whether they have been working or not. You could cheat the system and make a character filthy rich, but gross abuse of this accommodation may merit a stern talking to from the mods.
3) When it comes to material goods, keep it simple, realistic, and non-game breaking. You cannot order a Mobile Suit, for instance.
However, do note that this is all completely optional and it is also fine not to have a job.
☆ STRIKES AND BANS
This rule is for serious issues or rule breaking situations only. It's simple: Get two strikes, and you are banned from the game for at least three months. After that time, the banned person involved may approach the mods for a discussion about being let back into the game.
